Pregnant!
Janel and I are pregnant!
The standard questions and answers ...
Q: When is the baby due?
A: Sometime around the end of September. We will get a due date in about a month.
Q: Are you going to find out the sex? When do you find out?
A: Yes. In about 1 month.
Q: Do you have a preference on boy/girl?
A: Nope.
Q: Do you know what you are going to name it?
A: No. Stop Asking :P. You will find out after the baby is born.
Q: Is Janel going to keep working?
A: Janel has already told the high school that she will be taking a year off. She may teach a class or two at the local community college. After that, who knows.

Japanese and Rose Gardens
Janel and I went to the Japanese and Rose Gardens in Washington Park today with Julien and Michelle. It seemed to be the "right" day for the Japanese Gardens for photography, as the place was jam packed with people carrying around their SLRs and Tripods (because of the Sakura trees). This was the first time I really got to put my new wide-angle lens (Tokina 12-24) to use.
Here is an obligatory of the one Sakura Tree (we could not believe there was only one!)
The standard Portland/Mt Hood photo:
Rock Garden ...
The roses obviously were not out yet at the Rose Garden (you prune them back mid-February), but there was still a good number of nice shots. This week I got a "close-up" adaptor lens for my telephoto. It turns "regular" telephoto lenses into pseudo-macro lenses. Here is a photo that a took of a flower in the parking lot :).
