Living on a Prayer

Pretty uneventful weekend. The weather was really nice, but we have just been a bit too busy to get out to the Gorge. Hopefully this is the beginning of the nice summer stretch.


Last night we went out downtown for a friend's birthday. I got stuck doing karaoke at some bar. Allen and Anna joined me singing Living on a Prayer. We were pretty aweful ... but it was amusing. Allen and Anna did a great job ... but it just did not feel right without Jim and Bober being there :P. It was a fun time ... but probably not something I will be repeating anytime soon.

So in poll results released today <here>, Obama has caught up with Hillery after steadily gaining on her over the past couple of months. Thumbs up to my buddy JeffP who is working on the campaign.


Obama is also the only candidate who does not have more people saying that they would vote against him than for him (see here).


I can't believe I am making another political post. I have to say that I really enjoy polls (even though I know they don't really mean that much) ... I just like statistics :).

Gay Rights

The Oregon Senate passed a bill today offering "domestic partners" the same benefits as married people. It also passed another measure banning descrimination against GLBT people in employment, housing and access to public accommodations. These bills are expected to move smoothly through the house and the governor "looks forward" to signing them into law. It is nice living in a progressive state.

Injury Update

I got back the results from a recent physical, and all looks well with my blood work. So ... I really just have to be careful because my metabolism is so high. I never expected my high metabolism to actually be a problem :). I also got a nice cholesterol report back, which showed that I am in pretty good shape. I would recommend going in sometime and getting some blood work done (to all you fellow young people). It is good to know now if you should be adapting your diet. I need to decrease my bad cholesterol intake a bit ... but mostly just get working out again. Looks like I might have a bit of minor scaring on my face -- but nothing that bad (lust a few light-red patches of skin). I think they are the type of scars that will linger around for a year or so and then go away. We shall see ...

Google Desktop Search

Not sure if any of you ever use it ... but the one thing I like about my windows box over my mac is that I can use google desktop search. Well ... that is true no more. Today they released the tool for Mac's as well. I suggest picking up a copy if you are a mac user.
